Real Wedding: Be Romantic, Rustic, and Radiant!

The Malibu hills are a little closer to heaven than anywhere else, and they did not disappoint on Ashley & Drew's special day! The ceremony took place on the estate's upper terrace where guests were treated to a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean- and boy, was it a view!

When designing, the SY & Co. team knew that the natural backdrop would be absolutely stunning and so, in order to allow as much of the view as possible, we createda simple wooden beam structure with clusters of cream and light pink florals with whimsical smilax. Then, we hung three crystal chandeliers in staggered positions from the top beam and brought an extra touch of elegance to the beautiful facade. A carefully selected combination of rustic upholstered chairs brought a special Tuscan feeling to the design!

Overall, the floral arrangements and bouquet featured a lot of depth and texture. While lush white, cream, light pink roses, and hydrangea were in abundance, cascading smilax and whimsical greenery made the design feel beautifully overgrown.

Lounge furniture was luxurious with a combination of vintage chairs and couches. During the cocktail hour, guests were treated to some adorable interactive activities. Some included writing special notes for Drew & Ashley on their one year anniversary while others included lighting candles in some of our favorite mercury and footed votives.

And seriously, we can't NOT talk about how awesome and unique this escort display was. Each guest received their own bottle of olive oil (since they were a part of the couple's first meal as husband and wife). Bottles lined a wall made of stained planks and sat below some pretty fun signage. We wove smilax through the wall and had it drape down to various aged wooden boxes and crates. Individual terracotta pots and antique lanterns sat intermingled with more greens and petite floral arrangements.

The reception was held in the courtyard below brilliant strands of lights and the beautiful Malibu sky. Florals matched the ceremony, as did the rentals. The layout alternated between rectangular and square tables with a large portion saved for dancing the night away!

Each place setting had a fresh sprig of greenery tied with grey satin ribbon. The square tables featured a beautiful quatrefoil patterned linen.
